plans of her own...

As she tells me what she wants from her life I am speechless and I don't think I will get over the initial shock of seeing a face I know so well... with plans of her own (plans, I might add that don't altogether coincide with the plans I had in my mind).  I think when you have children it is like letting a little part of your soul go walking into the world with a will all of it’s own.

I love your words, so beautifully combined with those delicate paintings.
Such intimate thoughts. Gentle colours. And so lyrical alltogether.

you are heard by all mothers around the world. strength of heart to you as part of it decides without you. sending you a big fluffy blanket of comfort, some rich dark chocolate and a deep cup of tea to soothe you.

Ah yes, I had very different plans to my mothers' ideas for me when I was a teenager. Now in my late 20s, my "plans" have changed over and over and over and over. And what I have learned is, no plans, no move halfway around the world, no marriage even, is a contract written in blood. You can always turn around, go back, change your mind. The only thing that is definitely happening in your future is change!

As the mother of a 15 year old I hear you. Miss 15 has plans and dreams that do not begin to go in the direction I dreamed...

HI, just dropped in from Kelly Rae's blog. I was interested to 'meet' a fello kiwi artist in blogland.

I like the simplicity of your paintings. Simplicity is something I have a hard time with, I just dont know when to stop sometimes!
